The How’s and Why’s of Going Virtual

Sure, in the past few months, our lives have been altered (just a little?) and the way we market our brands in the digital-verse has shifted exponentially. We especially know this is true for our clients and friends in the homebuilding industry! But, when in-person visits and tours are put on hold, do you give up? Absolutely not! You  bring the model homes to your audience by going VIRTUAL.

Thanks to the always-evolving science of social media, we have the opportunity to showcase our clients by utilizing the Live feature on Facebook and Instagram. For example…

Olson Homes has put together a campaign where they go LIVE every Friday on Instagram with their “At Home with Olson” video series. Each week, they stop by one of their neighborhoods and answer questions while walking through a model home. Through this live engagement, Olson Homes is able to provide a quality work-from-home-friendly guided tour to a larger audience.

Are you ready to jump on the virtual bandwagon, but not sure how to start? We have an awesome toolkit hot off the press to help you get ready to start your video journey! From tech supplies to production tips, we have all the insider secrets to prepare you for your close-up. Want a sneak preview? Check out a few of our favorite tips:

Never Film by Hand

Handheld filming creates shaky footage that’s difficult to watch. You should ALWAYS film using a selfie stick or tripod. You’ll get a clean video that your clients will love!

Check Your Wi-FI

Don’t you hate it when you’re watching something online and it lags? Your viewers feel the same way. Test out your location’s Wi-Fi before you start filming. Try video chatting with a friend before going live. They can tell you if you’re showing up crystal clear.

Consistency Is Key

When setting your live schedule, make sure that it’s consistent. For example, Olson Homes goes live every Friday at noon. That way your audience knows when to expect to see you.

Pro-Tip: Save your schedule onto your Instagram Stories, or pin it to the top of your Facebook page so your current and new followers can find it easily.
